girlfriend walks

When I moved to LA, one thing I hated missing out on was the girlfriend walks around Greenlake.

I remember when Kerry and I lived in Bellevue, we would walk around the little park near the mall almost every weekend. Not only was it good exercise but it was a time for us to catch up on life (not that we didn’t already talk everyday). Then we moved to Seattle and walked around Greenlake once in a while. It became a regular thing after I had moved away but I always wished I could be a part of it.

Now being back in Seattle and living a couple blocks from the lake, I’m able to participate in the walks. It’s even more fun now that a few of us have kids to stroll around. Needless to say, after a long week at work, it’s always a great time catching up with my best friends over a three-mile walk. 🙂

hello there, four

It’s hard to believe that Drew is four months already! It seems like yesterday I was typing up his three-month post (let’s be honest, it was more like two months ago!).

Drew remains the center of attention in our family. The first grandchild on both sides, he is adored by all. Even Pearl, who is a little jealous at times, can’t get enough of her baby brother! She sneaks in kisses when she can.

Four month stats:
– Weight:  14 lbs 12.5 ounces
– Height:  24.5 inches

Highlights:
– Rolling over and over like crazy – can’t leave him alone for a second and he’s already rolled over onto his tummy
– Loves to munch and suck on his hands which is why you’ve probably seen him with “sock hands” 🙂
– Looks like a bandit wearing his drooling bibs
– Favorite thing to do is stand and he likes to pretend to walk in his Joovy walker
– Mini laughs are starting to turn into full on laughs courtesy of daddy tickles and songs
– Tries to pull himself up when laying down

peps: st. patty’s day

For one of our March PEPs meetings, we decided to dress the kiddos up in green for a St. Patty’s Day photo. This time, we tried to get them all sitting on the couch. The photo below was the best we could do – poor Harvey (we were at his house) was in his swaddle ready for bed and Liberty was already passed out! Haha!

Group photo from left to right: Harvey, Liberty, Grady, Drew, Wilder, Callan and Ellie.

mini vacation: san francisco

Before going back to work, Keith and I decided to take Drew on a mini vacation to San Francisco. We wanted to take him on his first trip while he was still young but also wanted an excuse to visit our good friends Man Joe, Erin, Jane (Joe and Erin’s daughter), Ryan and Gaby. Although it was only a few days, it was nice to get away and see some familiar faces.

Drew did an excellent job on both plane rides! On the way there, our seat mate asked to hold him (she loved kids) and on the way back, the lady in front of us said she didn’t realize there was a baby traveling behind her. We were nervous about Drew’s nighttime sleep as he had just learned to roll over from his back that week but he did awesome – slept way better than when we were at home!

All in all, it was a great trip! Can’t wait to go back when Drew’s a little older so we can catch a baseball game and see Alcatraz.

my girl, pearl

I admit…since having Drew, a lot of my attention has gone towards him but I can’t forget about my fur baby, Pearl. She’s been such a trooper through all of this – she’s still our #1 pup!

Keith has done a great job at making sure he gives her the attention she deserves. Pearl is still the first to greet Keith at the door and she’s the first one he says hi to when he gets home. It’s a tradition that we don’t want to break. 🙂

peps: circle of friends

When I got pregnant with Drew, a couple of my friends mentioned that they joined a group called PEPS (Program for Early Parent Support). Keith and I were a little hesitant in joining since we already have a solid support group with our current friends and family; however, we ended up giving it a go. Overall, it’s been a great experience and the best part is that we’ve made some new friends (Drew too!).

Here’s a photo of the kiddos where we dressed them up in Valentine’s Day colors. This was the best photo we could get before a few of them had a meltdown. As you can see, Drew slept through the entire photo session. Ha!

quarter of the way

Oops, I did it again! I’m a little over a week late in posting this but it’s official…Drew is now a quarter of the way to turning one!

At three months, Drew continues to be a fairly easy-going baby. We really hope this continues to be the case as he gets older. 🙂

He’s starting to look a little more like me with hints of Keith. However, most people would agree he looks like a good mix of the both of us. Either way, we think he’s pretty darn handsome!

Three month stats:
– Estimated Weight: 14 lbs
– Estimated Height: 23 inches

Highlights:
– Continues to sleep for nine hours straight most nights (last weekend he let us sleep in until 9am!)
– Morning wake up routine includes lots of stretching and smiles
– Almost able to roll over from his back
– Loves to smack his upper lip and tongue together to make funny noises
– Lots of smiles and mini laughs
– Enjoys looking around the room and staring at mom
