pumpkin patching

For the past few weeks, I’ve seen several friends and family post pictures of their kids at a pumpkin patch. The pictures are always so cute – the kids holding or picking out a pumpkin, them in a wheel barrel, their face in a cut out picture board, etc.

To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of pumpkin patches and that’s probably because I don’t really like pumpkins. But as a first time parent, I couldn’t miss getting photos of Drew at his first pumpkin patch! This past weekend, we made a quick trip over to the Eastside and hit up a small pumpkin patch in Sammamish. We purposely went to a smaller patch since we knew all we wanted were some photos but we didn’t realize how picked through this one would be. There were still tons of pumpkins but they were all rotting and gross. In any case, we stuck it out and got some good photos (see below).

Note: Many of you have never really seen Drew upset or grumpy. Well…he was sleeping soundly in the car and we woke him up for the pictures. As you case see, he was not happy about this but I kind of love how the photos turned out. He still looks cute even when crying! 🙂

welcome to the world, baby will

It started out like any other day – Kerry and I had plans to meet up for a quick lunch and trip to Carters in Issaquah. On my way to the Eastside, I got a call from Kerry saying that she was letting Winnie out before leaving the house and her water broke! My instinct was to say “OMG, should I come get you and take you to the hospital?!?” Obviously, she was already waiting for Tye to get home. For a second though, it played out in my head like a movie…I’d pick up Kerry, take her to the hospital and be her coach in the delivery room. Haha!

Although our lunch plans got cancelled that day, I was so happy for baby Will’s arrival. He’s joining one awesome family! We love you little guy!

up to eleven

It’s the final countdown until Drew’s first birthday and his big party! I still can’t believe how fast this year has gone by!

At eleven months, Drew continues to be a ham. He’s standing on his own with little to no assistance which can only mean he’ll be walking soon right?!? We’re trying to enjoy the last weeks (or months) of having a crawler in the house before he’s up and walking / running.  We should probably start baby proofing the house more. 😉

Drew is having a good time at daycare these days but I sure do miss being able to see him more. I guess it just makes the time with him in the mornings, evenings and weekends that much more special.

Highlights:
– Learned how to put the colored rings on the base of his Fisher Price Rock-a-Stack toy
– Got his first black eye…he won the fight with the chair
– Loves to play with and feed his best friend, Pearl. He even hands her toys!
– Favorite book (at least we think) is Hello Ninja
– Laughs a ton when he gets daddy tickles
– Seems to enjoy PB&J sandwiches like daddy
