guess who’s six months?

Seriously, where does the time go?!? My baby boy is six months old today!

I know Drew is still a baby but I already wish I could go back to when he was just born. I miss the days when Keith and I slept on the couch in the living room because Drew had to sleep on the photo light bed. But when I think of this, I remind myself to enjoy each day with him now and get in as many kisses as I can. There will come a day where he won’t want mommy’s kisses anymore. Until then, I’m stealing all the kisses I can get from my little guy.

Six month stats:
– Weight:  16 lbs 4.5 ounces
– Height:  26.5 inches

Highlights:
– Enjoys listening to Stand By Me (one of mommy’s favorite songs)
– Loves food and is currently trying out butternut squash, carrots and garden vegetables
– Talks up a storm – he’s going to be a good storyteller like daddy
– Can scoot himself around in the walker and tries to walk if we hold him up
– Loves Pearl kisses and reaches out to pet her
– Will be taking swimming lessons in June

high five!

Well another month has come and gone…here we are at five months.

This month is a special one as Drew shares it with his daddy. Keith turned 35 and is now officially at the half-way point to 40! How did we get so old?!?

Keith doesn’t get to see Drew much in the mornings so he tries to make up for it in the evenings. As part of our bedtime routine, Keith changes Drew into a fresh diaper and pajamas. During this process, he talks and plays with Drew on the changing table, and Drew loves it! They laugh at each other and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I love seeing my two boys together – they’re the best!

Highlights:
– New trick is sitting up all by himself
– Eating solids like a rock star – green beans, squash and sweet potatoes
– Loves being outside, especially going on walks around Greenlake
– Laughing a ton at daddy and mommy’s antics
– Lots of toothless smiles
– No signs of teeth yet but still drooling like crazy

hello there, four

It’s hard to believe that Drew is four months already! It seems like yesterday I was typing up his three-month post (let’s be honest, it was more like two months ago!).

Drew remains the center of attention in our family. The first grandchild on both sides, he is adored by all. Even Pearl, who is a little jealous at times, can’t get enough of her baby brother! She sneaks in kisses when she can.

Four month stats:
– Weight:  14 lbs 12.5 ounces
– Height:  24.5 inches

Highlights:
– Rolling over and over like crazy – can’t leave him alone for a second and he’s already rolled over onto his tummy
– Loves to munch and suck on his hands which is why you’ve probably seen him with “sock hands” 🙂
– Looks like a bandit wearing his drooling bibs
– Favorite thing to do is stand and he likes to pretend to walk in his Joovy walker
– Mini laughs are starting to turn into full on laughs courtesy of daddy tickles and songs
– Tries to pull himself up when laying down

peps: st. patty’s day

For one of our March PEPs meetings, we decided to dress the kiddos up in green for a St. Patty’s Day photo. This time, we tried to get them all sitting on the couch. The photo below was the best we could do – poor Harvey (we were at his house) was in his swaddle ready for bed and Liberty was already passed out! Haha!

Group photo from left to right: Harvey, Liberty, Grady, Drew, Wilder, Callan and Ellie.

peps: circle of friends

When I got pregnant with Drew, a couple of my friends mentioned that they joined a group called PEPS (Program for Early Parent Support). Keith and I were a little hesitant in joining since we already have a solid support group with our current friends and family; however, we ended up giving it a go. Overall, it’s been a great experience and the best part is that we’ve made some new friends (Drew too!).

Here’s a photo of the kiddos where we dressed them up in Valentine’s Day colors. This was the best photo we could get before a few of them had a meltdown. As you can see, Drew slept through the entire photo session. Ha!

quarter of the way

Oops, I did it again! I’m a little over a week late in posting this but it’s official…Drew is now a quarter of the way to turning one!

At three months, Drew continues to be a fairly easy-going baby. We really hope this continues to be the case as he gets older. 🙂

He’s starting to look a little more like me with hints of Keith. However, most people would agree he looks like a good mix of the both of us. Either way, we think he’s pretty darn handsome!

Three month stats:
– Estimated Weight: 14 lbs
– Estimated Height: 23 inches

Highlights:
– Continues to sleep for nine hours straight most nights (last weekend he let us sleep in until 9am!)
– Morning wake up routine includes lots of stretching and smiles
– Almost able to roll over from his back
– Loves to smack his upper lip and tongue together to make funny noises
– Lots of smiles and mini laughs
– Enjoys looking around the room and staring at mom

ong & ba

As I mentioned in my maternity leave post, I’ve been trying to make the most of it by spending time with family. This includes weekly visits with Ong and Ba.

The first grandchild on both sides, Drew is one spoiled little fella. My parents absolutely adore him and I know the feeling is mutual as he is always so happy and calm around them. I haven’t seen my parents this joyful in a long time, especially my Dad. Seeing the smile on his face when he holds Drew just melts my heart. And he even cleaned up my old Teddy Ruxpin so Drew has a new friend to play with when he’s at Ong and Ba’s house.

Keith and I haven’t had a night out sans Drew yet so we’re looking forward to Ong and Ba watching Drew next weekend. It’ll be the first time we’re away from him for a whole night! Wish us luck – I know I’ll need it!
